Negotiating between analog and digital library collections, this set of book objects materializes a group of titles culled from the Flaxman Library’s missing items list at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Twenty books that resemble decorators’ chop props stand together to constitute an inverse bibliography. Titles are reconstructed from their catalog descriptions—however standardized and incomplete—and reflect the reading/pilfering interests at an art and design school.
